Who we are

Glen Innes Severn Council has been a reputable provider of quality children’s services for over 30 years. Initially, services were provided for a long day care for children through Gum Tree Glen.

Over many years additional services were added to the suite of services provided at Gum Tree Glen, including After School Care and Vacation Care, Early Intervention Services, Aboriginal and Outreach Playgroups, Transition Provider and NDIS. This growth and adaption occurred to meet identified needs within the community.

The services were combined and renamed Children and Family Services in 2011 and with the closure of the long day care in 2013, were relocated to the Pool House at 185 West Avenue, Glen Innes to take advantage of the proximity to sporting fields, the pool, and the skate park.

Children and Family Services are dedicated to providing all children and families within the Glen Innes Severn Council region with access to services that provide greater choice and control over the support that is available to children aged between 0 and 12 years of ages. The core services that Children and Family Services now provide range from; Early Intervention, Supported Playgroups, Out of School Hours Care and Targeted Earlier Intervention. The services focus on innovation, choice, enhanced consumer independence, variety, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility.
